John Zappia and the Fuchs Monaro team earned the WA Top Comp Championship at Perth Motorplex, overcoming a broken clutch lever mid-event to defeat rival Adam Marchant with a 5.91-second pass on five levers.

John Zappia won the Goldenstates but bent rods on two separate runs. Ahead of the Westernationals, the team has been refining the Fuchs Monaro's tune-up for reliability while Zappia works on improving his reaction times.
